H&W Celiac Test

Celiac disease is a lifelong autoimmune condition where foods containing gluten (e.g., wheat, barley, and rye) trigger an inflammatory reaction in the small intestine. This damages the intestinal villi and reduces nutrient absorption.

Symptoms of celiac disease may include:

  • Digestive issues such as diarrhea, bloating, or abdominal pain
  • Weight loss and malabsorption
  • Skin symptoms (itchy, blister-like rash)
  • Growth problems, osteoporosis, joint pain
  • Symptoms may also be mild or completely absent.

H&W Celiac Test is based on an immunochromatographic assay from a fingertip blood sample, detecting:

  • Tissue transglutaminase (tTG) antibodies (IgA)
  • Modified peptide gliadin antibodies (IgA)

Advantages of the test

  • Simple fingertip blood sample
  • Results in 15 minutes
  • CE-marked (1434)
  • Clinically tested (accuracy 98%)
  • Test kit includes all necessary materials

Important information:

The final diagnosis must always be made by a medical professional. Moreover, an official diagnosis ensures proper medical records. The only treatment for celiac disease is a lifelong strict gluten-free diet, making both the doctor’s diagnosis and dietary counseling essential. Do not start a gluten-free diet before laboratory testing, as it may prevent an accurate diagnosis.

The test is available in many Finnish pharmacies and their online stores.
